Rigid core PCB, like FR-4 and CEM-3, is the most widely used substrate technology. The inner layer is made out of epoxy as a resin with woven glass (or mat glass) to reinforce it. FR-4 (Flame Retardant) is the most common used laminate and exists in many forms to enhance the performance in different application f.e. higher temperature or high-frequency environments.
The advantages of FR-4 & CEM-3 are clear:
- Common technology, very well controlled
- Multiple layers (20 layers and above) allow for complex designs
- Low cost
- A wide variety of substrate properties (thickness, strength, operating temp,…)
On the other hand, there are some drawbacks
- Very poor thermal conductivity
- Relatively low operating temperature
- Moderate dimensional stability
- Moderate flexural stress capability
At Elite Advanced Technologies we offer a wide variety of FR-4 laminates, from high Tg and high frequency as well as cost competitive CEM-3. We currently make circuit boards for a big scale of applications in lighting, automotive, industrial controls, medical, military, telecom and much more. We control our processes up to IPC Class III.
To guarantee the quality of our production and our impact on the environment, we have stringent procedures in place that have been recognized with multiple certifications like. ISO9001:2008, ISO 14001, TS16949, UL, GJB 9001B. In addition, we work RoHS compliant and we are currently awaiting the award of ISO13485.

Testing and inspection
All our PCBs are tested, inspected and guaranteed. Both electrically as well as visually. We are able to deliver up to IPC class III.

- Production lead time: most orders can be delivered in 2-3 weeks depending on the complexity and volume.
